Our programmes usually consist of two halves.
The first half is a set of songs and ensembles, sometimes related to a theme, and sometimes not! We can cover a wide range of styles in this half, from classical (Baroque to modern day) to jazz, musical theatre and folk songs.
The second half is the Pocket Opera itself: a collection of arias and other items from operas by the same composer, from the same period or in the same style. We weave them together into a new fast-paced plotline, with many twists and turns (but traditionally always ending the same way).
